Victoria Beckham Pregnant: Beckhams And Bookies Favour A Girl

The names Juliet and Sandra are the favoured choices as the name for their fourth child.

One bookmaker has been forced to pay £5000 after one punter successfully bet on a Beckham baby this year after odds of 6/1 were offered.

With the child's sex unknown, and the former Spice Girl suggesting she wanted another female Beckham, bookmakers announced that a baby girl was the favoured sex of the new baby.

Ladbrokes offered 10/11 for a girl while odds of 5/6 were offered for their fourth boy. William Hill, which paid out the £5000 bet, offered 5/6 odds for both a boy and girl while 50/1 was offered for "multiple births".

The Beckhams were said to be “delighted” after they broke the news to family and friends at their £18million Hertfordshire home on Sunday following the doctors giving the former Spice Girl the all clear. The pair, who married in 1999, had earlier told their “very excited” three boys Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight and Cruz, five.

It is believed that Mrs Beckham, known as “Posh Spice”, is just over three months pregnant. William Hill offered 16/1 for the baby to be born on the FA Cup Final on May 14.

Just hours after the announcement Ladbrokes, the bookmakers, disclosed that Juliet was the 4/1 favourite to be the child's name.

Alexander and Alexandra were next favoured choice at 5/1 in a "homage" to Beckham's former football manager Sir Alex Ferguson despite a well documented feud between the pair.

The low point of their relationship came when Ferguson kicked a stray boot in anger, smashing Beckham above the eye. "Of course it was an accident," Sir Alex later said.

"If I was that good I'd still be playing."

William Hill offered 9/1 for Sandra and 10/1 for David and Red while William

"The world of fashion also influences the short-list with Coco (6/1), Vivienne (8/1) and Stella (10/1) likely choices should Victoria honour her peers," said Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes.

Barry Beckham (150/1) and Becky Beckham (50/1) are "names which have a ring to them and with the three current Beckham children answering to unorthodox names Milan at 66/1 and Galaxy at 500/1 are interesting outsiders", he added.

"Correctly predicting the name of new Beckham arrivals has been almost impossible to date," he said.

"Romeo would surely love a Juliet to play with but the parents will probably spring yet another surprise."

Hills spokesman Rupert Adams added: “Punters have already made a few pounds off us from the Becks babe but we just have to hope they don’t call their child David junior or David II as we will lose a small fortune".
