Stars return to Twitter after $1million charity fundraiser

Twitter and Facebook are set to welcome back Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake
and Usher after the stars helped raise $1 million (£666,700) for a children’s charity.

The stars all left the social networking sites to raise cash for Alicia Key’s Keep A Child Alive Foundation.

Other celebs to join in with the Digital Life Sacrifice campaign, which marked World AIDS day, included Ryan Seacrest and Kim Kardashian. All logged off from their accounts and pledged to stay offline until the $1million mark had been reached.

All in all, the A-listers and their fans raised $500,000 (£333,330), which was matched by billionaire and philanthropist Stewart Rahr.

Usher Tweeted his comeback, and thanked the fans for their support.

He wrote: 'I'm alive! We raised $1mil to help KCA (Keep A Child Alive) fight AIDS. Thank you so much and never stop buying life!'
